Bolton Wanderers Ladies Under-14s won the Euxton seven- a-side tournament with victory over Inter Mill Hill C'.
Both teams finished the group stage of the tournament with equal points and unable to be separated by goal difference. A coin toss saw Inter Mill Hill go through as group winners. This meant Bolton playing the winners of the second group Euxton South in the semi final, a game which Bolton dominated finishing with a 3-0 win after two goals from Christie Gregory and one from Leanne Walmsley.
The final was always going to be a hard fought game after both sides had played out a goalless draw in their group match, but Bolton played with a lot more confidence after their semi final win but still could not find a goal in normal time.
The match looked like it was heading for a penalty shootout when a shot from the edge of the area by Beth Donoghue found its way home for victory.
Bolton Wanderers Ladies run teams from U10s to Open Age. If anyone is interested in playing for any of the teams please contact the club Secretary Ian Nickson on 0161 950 1485. All teams train at St Josephs School Horwich on a Wednesday evening.
