CHERRY Tree's two recent wins leave them one point ahead in the High Wycombe Sunday Combination Premier Division title race but Plough Inn are hard on their heels with a game in hand.
Goals from Kenny Glasgow, Chris Ayres and James Ramsey earned the Cherry a 3-0 success against Italia Unita last Wednesday before they followed that up with a 1-0 win on Sunday over a plucky King George V side.
Plough Inn did well to get a 2-0 win at stronghold Chinnor Exiles with goals from Robert Anson and Greg Murphy.
Italia Unita came back from their midweek defeat to score a convincing 5-1 win over Stokenchurch at Flackwell Heath with goals by Tony Bonaventura (2), Rino Sepede, Mark Schiarrafa and an own goal.
Elsewhere, Kingston United, already assured of promotion from Division One with a 4-1 win over Parklife, surprisingly dropped a point to Wycombe Marsh RBL in a 1-1 draw. Barry Miles notched for Legion with Simon Hawes getting the Kingston equaliser.
