A community interest company which empowers, inspires and motivates young people has secured funding for vital online safety workshops in Bolton.

Genuine Futures CIC is renowned for its commitment to nurturing trust, respect, and integrity across various communities.

Specifically focusing on providing crucial support for young people navigating the complexities of the digital age.

Genuine Futures has now been awarded a grant by Bolton Together, courtesy of the council public health department, which will enable the organisation to offer a series of workshops designed to equip children with essential online safety skills.

The focus of these workshops is to educate both parents and carers of children aged seven to 12 living in Bolton.

By addressing this critical age group, Genuine Futures aims to instil an understanding of online safety, ensuring that children can explore digital spaces securely and confidently.

Scheduled to take place in the heart of Bolton town centre, the workshops promise to be both fun and informative, making learning about online safety an engaging experience for children and their guardians.

A spokesperson for Genuine Futures CIC said: “The funding awarded to Genuine Futures CIC by Bolton Together is more than just financial support—it is an investment in the safety and well-being of our children.

“As we continue to embrace the digital age, initiatives like these are crucial in ensuring that our young ones are not only safe but also positive contributors to the online community.
