THREE arrests have been made in Scotland after two shooting incidents in Bolton.

Detectives working with Greater Manchester Police's critical wanted unit are said to have teamed up with Police Scotland to execute a warrant in the Tulloch area of Perth.

One of the firearms incidents is understood to have occurred last Thursday in Mercia Street, Deane.

Police were called around 9.30pm and a man was said to have been injured, but not seriously. Extra police patrols were introduced as a result.

Another previously unreported shooting incident is said to have happened on March 17 at an undisclosed location in the Bolton area.

Police say a 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of assault and firearms offences. A 17-year-old boy was also arrested for breach of bail. All three remain in police custody for questioning tonight.

Det Supt Joseph Harrop, head of GMP's serious and organised crime unit, said: "Firearms have no place on our streets and our team are vigorous in their response to stamping out this type of crime, ensuring the public are safe and also feel safe.

“Investigations into incidents involving firearms are robust, utilising specialists resources to understand the circumstances that led to violence erupting, arrest suspects, and build case files to support prosecution.

"Today's arrests in relation to the two discharges in Bolton demonstrates the force's commitment to moving investigations involving firearms forward at pace - and we would like to thank our Police Scotland Colleagues for supporting us on this.”
