POLICE hunting a rapist who dragged a 17-year-old into a back alley as she walked home are appealing for more witnesses to come forward.
Detectives have examined CCTV footage from the night of Thursday, May 1, and it shows several people in the area around the time the incident happened.
She was walking along Frederick Street, Farnworth, at about 11pm when a man approached her and asked for the time, before dragging her into an alley and raping her.
Sgt Mike Gladwin, of Bolton CID, said: "We have looked at the CCTV from the area and it suggests that there were a number of people who were in the area at the time who clearly are not the offender.
"We have had a few calls but we are keen to speak to other witnesses who may have information.
"We have carried out forensic tests and are waiting for the results."
The rapiost is described as in his 30s, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall, chubby, with crewcut hair.
He was wearing a blue jacket and spoke with a local accent.
