Why don't the BWSA just disband full stop. They do NOTHING for the fans. NOTHING.

Will there be any players left who haven't fallen out with Negson by 1 May?
Look very carefully at all the official wording regarding Jussi. I put it to Mugson, that Jussi is another disagreement casualty who is not at all injured now but will not play again for the Whites unless he stays next season. Al Habsi is in the shop window and for sale - so far acquitting himself very well. He is more valuable than Jussi and thus is the preferred candidate for a paid exit.

Why has it been called off, is there any reason BN or was that to much to ask?

gazz_ball, it says on the official BWFC site that certain people will be unavailable - in other words members of the committee or others who run it.
Just think of all that quiche going to waste - not to mention the confusion over literally several people not getting their usual fix of raffle tickets.
What a hard-core supporters club we have! 16 years old and not a single match-day event have they concocted. Not a single banner, not a single supporters campaign. Even Gartside has said the BWSA isn't really run by 'football people' and added (and I quote because this is what he said to me "...it's a pity because we'd like a few more footballing people to be involved but it's up them who they vote onto their committee."
Leftover quiche anyone?

You need an independent fans' group not one cosying up to the management.

Le Roi, it does anything but cosy up to them. It is allowed the use of one of the function rooms...and that's it. A few players show up occasionally. That's it. There are no hard-hitting proposals, no votes taken and then aimed at BWFC management - they are the official raffle...sorry, supporters club of BWFC. But they do nothing for neither fans nor club.
Did I mention the raffle thing?

You may then get more fans interested in getting involved.

Paul, that doesn't stop the board members of the BWSA from just sitting their organising raffles though. More people need to attend the meetings first and get themselves voted into the board in order to change things. I can bet you this much - if the BWSA organised a petition to Gartside of several hundred member names (remembering though it doesn't have many members at all at the minute) asking for a match day social club it would seriously get something sorted - even if it just meant using one of the small suites (if available).
As it stands the club aren't being asked to anything other than occasionally sending the odd player down for a Q&A session involving favourite ground, best goal, hardest opponent. It's no wonder the club are getting further distanced from the fans when they have to rely on logging onto here to gauge the views!!

Your serious side didn't last long Le Roi. I think this messageboard is fairly indicative of the mentality of many Bolton fans - they're happier to squabble with United fans who - for some bizarrely unknown reason - spend half their lives on a Bolton Wanderers messageboard rather than discussing our inactive supporters club; a club which should be capable of voicing these opinions on our behalf in the first place.

Hardly a wonder we have the supporters club we do.
JB, Gazz...why do you insist on tackling these lost Man United fans so eagerly? They come on here to goad, to gloat and to disrupt...why do any one of you give them the satisfaction? Surely you're just encouraging them to continue logging on.

I support Manchester United, and am also a member at FC.

Most FC fans are United fans as well, although we are now getting fans from Bury and Bolton.

Personally I havent bothered with any supporters organisation since the club kicked us out of the Social Club at Burnden Park many years ago.
Also now would probably not be the ideal time to rally support as it appears more and more fans are going to desert the club in the summer.
I also feel the question of a social club should have been addressed when the Reebok was built. I wrote at the time requesting this but nothing has happened. The club must have known that facilities near to the Reebok are very limited and a social club would have been a godsend to fans. This is something the club should have provided withiout the need for petitions etc, but obviously we are now too late. Also any facility within the stadium would no doubt be run by deVeres who would no doubt charge the same extortionate prices they charge in the ground and the hotel

You look at other clubs and the fans power through these organistations have had a voice, you only have to look at the Liverpool saga earlier in the year, ok im not for minute suggesting that we chant displeasure at games but they had a voice and when Rafa was being touted out then the supporters got involved, we dont have that for rational thinking fans. Im one who comes and moans but then when I reflect a lot of things are said in the passion of the moment. We need a voice an outlay to be heard. A solid supporters club would be beneficial to all, they are building an Academy accross the road, maybe the could think bout using them facilities as a meeting point?

As it stands the club aren't being asked to anything other than occasionally sending the odd player down for a Q&A session involving favourite ground, best goal, hardest opponent. It's no wonder the club are getting further distanced from the fans when they have to rely on logging onto here to gauge the views!!
You,ve hit the nail on the head in that more people need to get involved, but its the chicken& egg situation, if fans feel the club will do nothing anyway they see no point in getting involved.

Keithyt, strangely enough my friend I signed up about an hour ago after this thread first got started, such was my intrigue. That said, I was actually there at the very first meeting at the King Bill back in 1992 so I am aware of the people who have been involved all these years - most of whom couldn't get an opinion of their own if one were to be forcibly rammed down their necks by a greased draining rod.
"Far better than hiding behind a username and spouting faceless ****." And it's nice to know I can expect a pleasant and charming welcome as well. See you there, Keith. Two sugars please.

if we go down gartside will stick with megson as he'll say he's a proven championship manager. if megson does get us relegated, with our squad it will just prove how useless he is.
- he seems to have lost the squad
- squad seems unfit and injury prone
-his ego wants to be proved right and sticks with the same useless players
- ignoring the talent coming through the ranks
-plays a boring negative style of football and we cant score goals.
- didnt bring in a new striker and plays one striker upfront on his own who has score 3 goals all season.
-threw away our european dream and failed to apologise to fans.
great appointment gartside, will all these people in football who know why we have appointed megson, come out and tell us something all us fickle fans have fuc*ing missed?

What's the point in listening to those cronies anyway. They are all crooks who have been investigated by the police in recent times and are always trying to con the fans.
Sick of the spiel.
It was only about 2 months ago we was reading Gartside's ambition for Bolton was to be a premier league club for the next 50 years.
Must have been mis-quoted - should have been 50 days !!! LOL

Not replacing Anelka when we had the funds clearly must go down as the most stupidist thing a club as done in its history!!!

The BEN were told the reason why the BWSA social evening had to be cancelled, but chose not to print it. The decision was taken because after they had publicised the guest, (who was to be Chris Evans) (Assistant Performance Manager at BWFC)they were told that he was going abroad and there was only a chance that he might be back in time. But BWFC couldn't promise. As the members had already been let down, when Gary Megson should have been guest a few weeks ago but decided to take the players on a soujourn in the sun, the committee had to decide to cancel in time to let everyone know so they wouldn't trail expecting to see and ask questions to the promised guest.
They have also tried since the Reebok opened to get a room for the supporters on matchdays, but have met with no success.
Those who criticise BWSA are partly to blame for them having such little clout with the club. If their numbers were greater the club would listen a bit more. So they need more members. No good saying they don't do anything so I'm not joining. They can't do anything until more do join. It's a "chicken/egg situation. Information on www.bwsaonline.net And no, I am not on the committee! If you want changes join and do something about it.

Brownie, point(s) taken. However, what do you make of Gartside's comments that those currently running the BWSA aren't exactly football people - in other words it is more of a social club rather than a football supporters club?
