Signed Wanderers shirt stolen in burglary
Thieves stole a signed Bolton Wanderers FC shirt during a burglary in Wigan.
The thieves broke into the offices of AWK Computers on Swan Lane, Hindley Green between 12.30pm on Saturday February 2 2008 and 2pm on Friday February 8 2008.
Once inside, the thieves stole a box of computer cables, CDs and a blue Bolton Wanderers FC shirt which had been signed on the back by footballer Kevin Davies, along with the number 10. The front of the shirt was also signed by a number of other players.
The building was unoccupied at the time as the company were moving into a new address.
Police Constable Dave Wooldridge, based at Bamfurlong Police Station, said: "The shirt had a great deal of sentimental value to its owner, who bought it at a charity function.
"It maybe that the thieves try and sell it on to make a profit so I would appeal to anyone who is offered this shirt to contact police as soon as possible so we can bring the offenders to justice and return the shirt to its rightful owner."
Anyone with information is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
