Anelka happy at the Bridge
Former Wanderers triker Nicolas Anelka, whose departure still rankles with many Reebok fans, has hinted he would like to stay at Stamford Bridge when his current contract ends.
The Frenchman moved to Chelsea from Bolton in a £15m transfer in January but has found it difficult to establish himself as a regular in the side.
The 29-year-old has been played out of position on the left wing by coach Avram Grant and admits it has not been the ideal start to his Chelsea career.
But Anelka insists he is planning to stay for a long time to come.
"I am already very happy to have signed for a club like Chelsea. I have been waiting for that since my departure from Liverpool six years ago," Anelka said.
"Even if I don't always play in the centre, that is not so serious.
"I will be 32 at the end of my Chelsea contract. If they want to keep me I will stay.
"Otherwise you never know. I can move to USA or come back to Paris Saint Germain."

Best Bolton player I ever saw, certainly gave value for money.
A great shame he couldn't have stayed longer but left us with many good memories and I am still amazed big Sam ever persuaded him to come.I can't remember ever before signing a top international player at the peak of his game and unfortunately it will never happen again.

pedersen??? hope thats a joke, considering these guys do nothing but play with a football all week, pedersen's lack of any kind of ball control was inexcusable. he played like hed never even seen anything spherical before he came to the reebok

I thought Henrik got a bad press from some fans. He scored some crucial goals, could cross a ball, unlike most of the current lot. When asked to play left back, he never complained and I would play him there anytime over Samuel.
He didnt cost much, unlike Taylor, who does look a real donkey for the money he cost.

Pederson was not a good player in my opinion but a good servant, despite being such a 'poor' player he still chipped in with the odd wonder goal, do you remember that mazy run he went on away at Chelsea and managed to strike a shot with top - triple - back side spin on it which led to it intentionally spinning off John Terry's shin and in the back of the net! Go on super Ped

Must admit it does make me laugh when King Cain says Pedersen was a "poor player" but goes on to tell us about his winning goals against Chelsea and Arsenal!.
Anelka though came at the height of his powers and that gives him the edge over the others for me.
I've held a season ticket every season at the Reebok and the first good player I remember from the Burnden days was Francis Lee.Freddie Hill, Reidy,Worthy were also good players and although I'd go along with the majority view that Nat was our best ever, even though I never saw him play,Anelka would have to be the best I saw.

Is my memory letting me down, am I getting mixed up or did Anelka say the very same thing about being at Bolton.
1. He was happier than he had ever been at a football club.
2. He would see his contact out at Bolton.
Regarding Pederson, he may not have been the best footballer in the world but he always gave 100% and would play in any position when asked without question. What we would give to have him back at the moment. Won't we be sick come next season when we are travelling upto Carisle and Hull are travelling to Man U. all because of the Pederson goals got this season.

Steve from Bolton, I did see Nat play often you are correct in saying he was the best striker Bolton ever had and did very well for England. 30 goals in 33 games for England, big heavy boots and an even heavier ball in the winter months, even today he would be better than some of the so call strikers we have had, Oh they were the days, Nat, Banks, Hartle what players we have had in times gone bye, they didn't go for ballet lessons like the so called best players of today, football was a mans game, players and crowds were the name of the game not the refs that stand out today, I can remember the players names but I can't tell you any refs names because they let the game flow.

He was the lion,
the lion of Vienna,
he was the lion,
the pride of Lancashire,
there've been many centre forwards from many football teams,
BUT
the lion of Vienna was the best there's ever been.

Great one mate, I also still have that tape, we should play that at the beginning of the home games, who knows it may bring some pride back to the Bolton Games and give the today players something to play upto.

Great one mate I also have that tape perhaps they should play it at the warm up to the home games, who knows it may give our players something to play upto. Bye the way, I have just read the Riley is band from prem matches this weekend because of the Cole instance, they should have band him for the rest of the season and then we would be sure that we wouldn't get him, we are in a bad enough position as it is without him to worry about.

I see Megson denies unrest at the club. We fans are the club, not the management. The question is whether fans are discontent. Those running the club must be aware of our views as to what has gone on. So mismanaged have we been, that incredibly some posts on this site suggest that Megson was actually brought in to ensure we are relegated. I think that thousands of our fans will not be resting until our present manager is replaced. I don't know anyone who agreed with his appointment. When all the present regime, are gone it is we fans that will matter most if the club try another resurrection. To my mind there is clearly great unrest in all quarters of Bolton Wanderers with both players and fans. We should not be in our present position given the legacy left by Allardyce.

I dont agree with the Anelka comments, I dont think he was the best in recent times. Youri, JJ, McGinley, Walker, Johansen, Eidur amongst many others of the Giantkilling days were amongst the true legends in a White shirt in my eyes from 90's till present day. Dont forget it wasnt long ago that people were slagging Anelka off for not seeming to put the effort in....

I was one of the contributers on this site who said that Anelka didn't always put in a full shift, but can't say he didn't score goals. We bought Cahill and the Icelandic player, which were both good buys but we needed them AND Anelka not instead of (or at least another proven goalscorer). This omission is sending us down.

The facts are that we do not have a board worthy of a premiership club nor do we have a manager capable(as his record shows) of manageing in the prem.Everyone knows, including BSA, that we needed to invest big time last season. The board bottled it BSA left and the rest is history. We are run as a business and not a football club. We bought Anelka for 8m and sold him for 15m. great business deal, football suicide.Between them they didnt even have the sense or the bottle to spend big money to replace him,but the books look good. The sad thing is that once we go down we will follow the same path as the likes of southampton, coventry, shef wed, leicester etc . Lets face it ,we are in free fall

that wouldnt be the same eidhur gudjonson that missed a shed load of chances against watford in the play off final and then left.johanson was a good winger but bogged off and signed for a crap team, i bet he regretted snubbing sam later. bergson, walker, youri
,jj,super john, frank worthy, jussi, dioufy, and a lot more, not sure i'd have eidhur and jo as legends,

Possibly Bolton's demise as a decent side, and decent side to watch at that, started after Hierro went back to Spain. Class act, who hasn't been replaced.
