Clichy warning for Whites

GAEL Clichy has warned Wanderers that Arsenal will be gunning for victory at the Reebok on Saturday to re-ignite their Premiership title ambitions.

The Londoners' challenge has faded on the back of a five-match winless streak, culminating in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Chelsea that saw them drop to third in the table, six points behind Manchester United.

Clichy, though, feels Arsenal have what it takes to recover championship-winning form over the final run-in.

"Seven games mean there is a lot to do for them and for us. We just have to play the best football we can," said the young Frenchman.

"If we win all the games anything is possible - but we have to be realistic and not drop any more points.

"When you look at the table you see Man United are six points ahead, of course the gap is open a little bit now.

"It will be difficult for us, but we have a great team and great quality.

"We have to think positive. Maybe if we can win all those seven games then something can happen."

Clichy, who picked up a hamstring injury at the weekend but is expected to be fit for the Reebok clash, added: "We don't have to feel sorry for ourselves.

"We have to go to Bolton on Saturday, win there and try to make something happen.

"It is going to be difficult, but we have to believe in it.

"Like the boss says, it is a good opportunity to show everybody the strength in the team. So let's go for it.

"I am sure with a bit of luck and lot of work we can still make it happen."

Meanwhile, Wenger is determined to keep his players focused on domestic issues and avoid being distracted by their upcoming Champions League quarter-final duel with Liverpool fast approaching.

"We want to do well in the Premier League and not dream about the Champions League - we have to fight back," the Gunners boss said.

"It is five games now since we have won and we want to come back to winning ways." And while not singling out any individuals, he has called for a more solid defensive approach, adding: "We have to become better defensively because the goals we have given away recently have been inefficient."

Megson keeps saying he will keep to his same formation. Rubbish Megson play 442 and give us some points if you keep playing the way you do there is only one place we will finish up and you know where {Championship} Arsenal are beatable if you let the players play their own game and attack them and tackle for every ball, Arsenal dont like being put under pressure and Davies is the ideal man to do it in their goal area, but if we sit back and defend against them its all over. Arsenal will be more worried than us having to play Liverpool three times in just over a week, they will not want any injuires to any of their big players. So come on Bolton lets have a right good due at them and show them what your worth. COME ON YOU WHITES.

A bold statement; Despite Arsenal's recent poor run i think they will still win the league, i've been under this impression since the Arsenal Newcastle game at St James Park in which big Sam was still in charge. That game Newcastle tried to kick Arsenal of the park to a level more brutal that BWFC ever had in past games v Arsenal. In past years Arsenal have gone missing when this has happened and the evidence is their record at the Reebok. However as i witnessed at St James Park this year they have a real toughness and resilience about them, at St James not only were they taking the hits but getting up and giving it back, even the smaller players like Hleb. So you have probably gathered that i dont fancy our chances at weekend!

If we lose against the gooners and Brum beat City then it is pretty much bye bye prem.

Whilst I fancy that we will pull off a shock 1-0 victory, Arsenal are an excellent team and are not really a side that we would want to be playing in our current predicament.

Who will play instead of Nando Nolan - maybe Wolze?

Negson please, please, please DON'T play Braaten just because he scored in the reserves this week.

King Cain. I agree with you Arsenal are a good footballing side to watch, its just with Liverpool coming so quickly that just might give us that edge. One never knows. I will be watching

This is one match I personally think that Bolton wanderers have a real chance of winning. I like the wanderers but I dont and cant go due to a few personal reasons but I wish them well. Remember Arsen Wegner (Hope I Spelt it right) hates his team playing an coming to the reebok, because he always loses. So good luck wanderers.
