Three and easy for Wanderers
Davies' vow on the back page of The Bolton News
Davies' vow on the back page of The Bolton News

KEVIN Davies believes three more wins could be enough for Wanderers to beat the drop.

And he is confident the first can come against Arsenal at the Reebok on Saturday.

With a return of just one point from six games, the pressure is on Gary Megson's Whites to stop the rot before it is too late.

It is hardly the best of times to be taking on one of the strongest sides in the Premiership, but Davies, who reckons nine more points could be enough to keep Wanderers in the Premier League, is relishing the challenge after seeing Arsenal's title hopes dented by a run of five games without a win.

"They have stuttered a little bit and I think it's a good time to be playing them," he said.

not a prayer that we can stay up! yes 3 wins would have done us but they needed to come from wigan/city/west ham/sunderland! 2 games down and 1 point gained! we now need snookers i.e arsenal/chelsea/tote
nham/villa! aint going to happen!

we are down!

If we would have beaten City it would have only given us false hope. We are going along with Derby and i think Brum, as Fulham have 4 winnable games coming up.

Just read the Nolan article and cant believe the comments underneath from the same ignorant fools. Nolan is our best goalscoring midfielder and when he doesnt play Bolton look alot worse and create nothing.

Also Campo. I have campaigned for him to be dropped for months. Since West Ham away he has been a liability. I think he did warrant his place in the team in the UEFA as he was brilliant at winning free kicks from diving, but if he cant complete passes, holds onto the ball for too long and makes too many mistakes then he shouldnt be in the side. I used to love him but now its like watching a sick pet go through pain, he should just be put down.

Well what can you say?
We couldn't beat the pie cloggers when they were down to ten men for 86 minutes, so tell me Kevin, how do you propose to beat Arsenal. Chances are we will outplay them and stop them from scoring, but who on earth is going to score us the goals that will win the game?
All the talk that comes out of the Bok is positive, but actions speak louder than words, and we are running out of time.

its looking bad for us. we didnt get the start that we normally do to the season as we fall away in the second half of the prem season. so we are paying the price for it now! we have to all pull together thats the fans and the players and if we get out of this mess we will have to start off next season on fire!!!but its not impossible we just need some very good results! which we are very capable of as there will be other teams just as nervous around us and at the top of the table. plus lots of results at this time of the season that no one with any knowledge will be expecting!bring on arsenel we can beat them they will be very nervous about playing us at the reebok!!!!! i hope.

well Arsenal dont tend to lose two in a row very often, although the way they lost at Chelsea, the players looked very dejected plus i think there main objective - the champions league is a few days after, so who knows.

Looks like the 'chickens are coming home to roost' as we all know the Wigan performance was a reaction by the players to the stance against Megson's attitude towards UEFA. My lad, who's 8, asked at Wigan why we was only laying with one sriker aganst 10 men!!! We looked good in the 2nd halve at Stretford Rangers because they let us.. Our only hope is that Zulu's are marginaly worse that us!!!

Hope you prove us all wrong ............
Sunderland Boro and Villa will do 9 points
still not enough 35 points - Brum only need 8 to take them to 35 with a better goal difference and they play City on saturday - thats 3 point to their total. Need 3 against WHU as well.

Their is not a hope in hell we will leap frog brum! look at it in head to head form!

bolton v arsenal - brum v city

villa v bolton - wigan v brum

by my reconning they will be 5 points ahead of us by this stage with a better goal difference, lets carry on-

bolton v west ham - brum v everton

we should make some ground up their

boro v bolton - villa v brum

totenham v bolton - lpool v bolton

bolton v sunderland - fulham v brum

3 wins? 3 bloody wins? whats he smokin? dont you know that to win a game 9not just 3)..err..you ready for this?...you have to a) score at least one goal,,and b) dont concede any!
Youre heading for the championship faster than ever......
what gets me is why do those loser fans turn up each week and watch that dross? do they have nothing better to do....hello??
wouldnt it be easier..and less painful..to simply place your testiclesin a tightened vice, lash your neck to a mad bull...and get the bull to run off in the opposite direction/..sounds more fun too.
This is the end of BWFC as any form of serious football entity. If youre over the age of 10...you can rest assuredthat you will not be seeing premiership football at t'bok again in yr lifetime....unless old t disappears and the reds need to ground share
you are doooooomed! ha ha!

To be fair to Kevin Davies I am sure his statement is well meant. He is a player that gives everything he has got to give on the pitch for this club. It will be a sad day when he departs in the summer for another prem side while we head off to the championship. In my humble opinion there will be little blame to be pointed at super Kev.

So how do you plan on getting three wins???
Thats the real question, not what you think will get us out . must have been taking lessons from Nolan.
Better start scoring some goals , cause thats the only way !

Come on you so called supporters. This Saturday we can get three points off Arsenal who are abit suspect at the back, I am sure Kevin Davies can upset them with his style of play. Megson must play 442 and attack otherwise they will pick us off. With Gardner off for the season I would play Taylor at left back and let him push foreward like Hunt on the right, this is where he used to score goals from for Pompey, and who knows it might work for us, we have nothing to loose and everything to gain if it works. Megson knows this is getting near the last throw of the dice every game must count, he must put his strongest team out every game or sink. I will be there Saturday giving my vocal support. COME ON YOU WHITES ONE BIG PUSH.

"There's a new sheriff in town"
I agree with much of your summary, however i dont see that to many Premiership clubs will be kicking the Reebok gates down to sign Super Kev, he has only scored a handful of goals each season and as much as i like him, he does tend to dictate the style of football we play. This is all well and good when we either had mid fielders getting up, supporting him and scoring goals or with the genius of Anelka, but with the side we have at the moment, he looks like Robinson Crusoe, marooned in the oponents half!
Dont be surprised to see Kev pull on the shirt again next year, albeit with Championship badges.

Aidan,

I don't know what games you have been wwatching but in general tersm throughout the whole of this season and half of last when "Roy Chubby Brown" Nolan has not played we have been better for it!!!

He is unfit, a wimp when it comes to challenges, a referee badger-baiter (in the same mold as Ashley Cole and Meschareno (sp)), and blames everyone but himself (a very selfish attitude) - now you tell me how good he is! Goals alone means nothing - I'd still prefer Davies as Captain any day!!!

When it came to goals there was only one goal scorer Bolton had and that was Anelka (lets get the facts right here - Gartside saw pound signs and that what happened - I presume that Anelka did want to move on but would have been happy enough to stay the rest of the season whilst Gartside saw the pound signs and sold him cheaply - remember Anelka was one of the top 5 goal scorers in the Prem just before Chelsea bought him - now where is he???). Even now Anelka is Bolton's top goal scorer with 10 goals (although Sky now credit these goals to Chelsea!!!) - so how can you say that Nolan is out top goal scorer when its blatantly not true!!!
