A BOLTON Community College student is taking part in a national hairdressing competition.

Jignesh Madhavji, aged 22, of Derby Street, Bolton, successfully completed his level two barbering last year and is now studying level two hairdressing.

In March he is taking part in the National Hairdressing Federation competition in Blackpool.

Mr Madhavji said: "Last year I participated in several competitions, which has given me invaluable insight to what is required from competitors at this level.

"It has certainly given me a drive and determination to succeed and be the best."
